About fees and payments.
We make every effort to make dental care affordable. You can help us by paying at the time of your visit. You will be given an estimate of the approximate total fee at the beginning of treatment and asked to make definite financial arrangements with a member of our business office staff.
Insurance
Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but very rarely all, of the cost of your dental care. Most plans include co-payment, a deductible and other expenses which must be paid by the patient. If you have dental insurance, please bring your plan information with you at your first appointment. We will work with you to assure that you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled.

About Dr. Rosenberg

Edwin S. Rosenberg, B.D.S., H.DIP.DENT., D.M.D.
Dr. Edwin S. Rosenberg received his degree in dentistry from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, where he taught in the department of Orthodontics. He received a degree in Periodontics from this University in South Africa. In Johannesburg, Dr. Rosenberg practiced Periodontics, Periodontal Prosthesis, Fixed Prosthesis, and Implant Dentistry. In 1974, Dr. Rosenberg immigrated to the United States, where he earned certificates in Periodontics and Periodontal Prosthesis from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine.
He was awarded a full professorship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, with tenure, where he served for over ten years as Director of the Post-doctoral Program of Periodontics. Dr. Rosenberg served as the first Director of the Branemark Implant Center at the University of Pennsylvania.
A Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Rosenberg is internationally recognized as one of the leaders in the field of Periodontics, Periodontal Prosthodontics, and Implant Dentistry. He has written over 250 scientific papers, books, research abstracts, and book chapters that have been widely published throughout the world. He has participated in clinical research in the field of Microbiology, Guided Tissue Regeneration, Implant Therapy and various areas in Periodontics. He also frequently lectures in the United States and throughout the world at professional and scientific congresses and courses.
At present, Dr. Rosenberg has a research appointment at New York University in the Department of Implant Dentistry as Professor of Implant Dentistry. He is also Clinical Professor of Periodontics at University of Southern California.
Dr. Rosenberg is a past president of the Philadelphia Society of Periodontology and at present he is Director of the Pennsylvania Society of Periodontists. He belongs to a number of professional and scientific societies in the United States and around the world and is an active member of numerous organizations in Pennsylvania.
His achievements have been recognized with many prestigious awards. He has received, among many others, the Clinical Research Award of the American Academy of Periodontology and Hakasui Award from the Japanese Dental Association, for contributions in the field of Periodontics, Periodontal Prosthesis and Implant Dentistry.
He has frequently been awarded the Best Teacher of the Year Award by the post-doctoral students in Periodontics and Periodontal Prosthesis at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine. He was awarded the Lester Burkett Lecture Award by the alumni of the University of Pennsylvania and the J. George Coslet Award for Teaching Excellence at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Rosenberg was appointed to the newly created Implant Crisis Committee, a committee of experts in the field of Implantology of the American Academy of Periodontology. He has also served on many Committees of the American Academy of Periodontology, and served as Chairman of many committees.
He has held Fellowships in the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists. He is also a fellow and Diplomat of the American Society of Osseointegration, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Vice President of the Board of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Rosenberg is Past President of the Academy of Osseointegration.

He has just been appointed as Director of the American Board of Periodontology which is the most prestigious appointment of the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Rosenberg has been appointed the Saul Schluger Professor at the University of Washington. This is a great honor.
About Dr. Gian-Grasso

Joseph E. Gian-Grasso, D.M.D.
Dr. Joseph E. Gian-Grasso holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontics from the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Gian-Grasso specializes in the areas of Periodontics, Dental Implantology, and Facial Pain (TMJ). He served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Post-Graduate Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine and Clinical Associate Professor of Periodontology at Temple University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Gian-Grasso is an officer in the Academy of Osseointgration and served as a trustee of the American Academy of Periodontology for six years. He is a National spokesperson for the American Academy of Periodontology and medical advisor for the Study Center for Head and Neck Pain and TMJ Disorders. He served as a Director of the Implantology Center at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He frequently lectures in the areas of Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Dental Implantology, Facial Pain (TMJ), and Reconstructive Periodontics.
Dr. Gian-Grasso has been the recipient of many prestigious dental and periodontology awards, including the Abram Cohen Award, the American Academy of Periodontology Award, the Lactona Award, and the University of Pennsylvania University and Dental Alumni Awards of Merit. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, past president of the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Gian-Grasso is past president of the Pennsylvania Society of Periodontists and Philadelphia Society of Periodontology and is also a member or Director of a number of professional, scientific, community, and civic organizations.
About Dr. Torosian

James Torosian, D.M.D.
Dr. James Torosian holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a D.M.D. and a Certificate in Periodontology from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine.
Presently he is a Clinical Professor of Periodontics at Temple University's School of Dentistry and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Torosian previously served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. He has also been affiliated with the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York Center as a General Practice Resident, Chief Resident, and Associate Attending Dentist in the Department of Dentistry. He has also been a Clinical Instructor of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
Dr. Torosian's research interests include the oral manifestations of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS); he has written a number of articles on oral cancer, AIDS, implantology, and esthetic procedures in dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association; he is also a Fellow in the American Association of Hospital Dentists.
About Dr. Sanavi

Farshid Sanavi, D.M.D., PHD
Dr. Sanavi, who received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine, completed his post-doctoral training as a Research Fellow at the University of Rochester. He received training in his specialty, Periodontics and Pathology, as a Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine.
Currently Assistant Professor of Periodontics and Research Coordinator of the Implant Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Sanavi has been affiliated with that university since 1979, serving in a variety of clinical and faculty positions, including Research Specialist, Clinical Associate, and Research Associate. He is also a member of the surgical faculty at the university's Implant Center.
The author of many highly regarded articles, abstracts, and book chapters related to Periodontology, Dr. Sanavi has conducted extensive research in the field of Periodontics. He has received many distinguished awards, including the George Coslet Award and the Chase Award in Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine. He belongs to numerous national societies, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Association of Dental Research, and the American Association of Dental Research.
About Dr. Kayne

Barry Kayne, D.D.S.
Dr. Barry S. Kayne is a graduate of Ohio State University as well as Ohio State University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Kayne served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps before entering private practice, specializing in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Kayne completed his Postdoctoral training of Orthodontics and Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
From 1979-1981, Dr. Kayne served as Clinical Associate Professor in the Graduate Department of Orthodontics and Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, as well as Chairman of the Orthodontic/Periodontic Residency program there.
Presently, Dr. Kayne is a Staff Affiliate in the Residency Training Program at Philadelphia's Children's Hospital and Veteran's Hospital; Staff Affiliate/Lecturer at Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington, DE; Guest Lecturer–Dental Hygiene Program at the Delaware Technical and Community College and Guest Lecturer in the Graduate Program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kayne is a well-respected lecturer on Temperomandibular Joint Disease (TMJ) and is the author of many articles on the disease.
About Dr. Walker

Elana M. Walker, D.M.D.
Dr. Elana Walker received her Dental Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and her Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania. She has received extensive training in the most current techniques in periodontal and implant dentistry, as well as the philosophy of periodontal-prosthesis.
Dr. Walker's focus is to provide each patient with the utmost care and personal attention. She strives to make every patient feel comfortable and relaxed.
Being an active member of the dental community is very important to Dr. Walker. She has numerous affiliations, including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, and the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Walker also contributes to dental education as a Clinical Assistant Professor one day a week at the University of Pennsylvania.
